Dr. Vinod Singaravelu

A clinician who brings 20+ years of NHS experience, deep human empathy, and a rare dual identity as both Consultant Psychiatrist and Life Coach.

Biography

A Career Built on Compassion

Dr. Vinod Singaravelu is a GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist with over 20 years of medical experience, predominantly working with children, adolescents, and their families across some of the UK's most respected NHS settings.

After completing his early psychiatric placements at Guy's, King's & St Thomas', Greater Manchester West and London Deanery, Dr. Singaravelu specialised through the Oxford Deanery's Child & Adolescent Psychiatry programme — one of the most prestigious training pathways in the UK.

He has served as Lead Consultant Psychiatrist for the Buckinghamshire CAMHS Eating Disorder Service, developing deep expertise in the complex intersection of mood, anxiety, and disordered eating in young people.

Beyond clinical psychiatry, Dr. Singaravelu holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Systemic Theory from the Tavistock & Portman NHS Trust. Has undergone Robbins Madanes Training on strategic life coaching techniques, with systemic and strategic family therapy skills, mentoring and coaching skills. This allows him to work not just on symptoms, but on the relational and life contexts in which those symptoms arise.

He is also a passionate educator and mentor, teaching medical students, supervising psychiatric trainees, and delivering specialist training to Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) on the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.

“I see you as a person, not a patient. Successful life does not necessarily mean a fulfilling life — and that distinction matters deeply to me.”

— Dr. Vinod Singaravelu

As a father himself, Dr. Singaravelu brings a personal understanding of the challenges facing young people and families today. His practice is warm, honest, and deeply collaborative — built on mutual respect, clear communication, and the belief that every person has inherent strengths and the capacity for a fulfilling life.
